There is a short fourteen member list for the top hospitals in the country. Rankings for this year place our very own UCLA medical center at number five. The only other California hospital to make the list was University of California San Francisco Medical Center.

I am surprised Cedar's was not on the list.

While Cedars is an excellent hospital, the competiion level is clearly increasing. Other places in the US are making progress in developing their communities into national class status.
When California has only two of the fourteen top hospitals, then there is something happening. I would also bet that there will be an outflow of retirement aged people from California as it is very expensive to survive here. |

Many people have negative feelings about Kaiser Permanente. Personally, I have had it for years and am very comfortable with the level of care. But even I was surprised when my cousin, who is a GI physician in Santa Barbara, told me that Kaiser Sunset is a highly respected and recommended for heart problems and surgeries.

I had my baby @ Glendale Adventist & was very pleased! The staff was very helpful...everything was very clean & organized. I wonder what they use as criteria to determine the best hospitals?
